Citation Linker helps you find the best source of a periodical article you want to read. (Periodicals are newspapers, magazines, journals, etc.)
You must already know the name of the publication and some information about the article. If you don't already know of any articles on a topic, use our Article Databases page to help you find some.
To use Citation Linker

You must identify the publication using one of the following:
Periodical title or abbreviation, or truncated title ending in %, e.g. National Civic Review or National Civic%
-or-
International Standard Serial Number (ISSN), e.g. 0027-9013
-or-
Digital Object Identifier (DOI), a new code available for some publications

Fill in as many other fields as you can.
- Include the year of publication even if you don't know the date.
- More information yields better results.
- Spelling counts!
Citation Linker Results
- If SDSU Library subscribes to an electronic version of your article, you will see a list of links to online databases. Follow them to read your article online.
- If SDSU Library subscribes to the printed publication, you will see a link to the PAC, our online catalog. This will help you find the article in the Library.
- If SDSU Library does not have the article in electronic or print form, you will see a link to our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. ILL can get articles from other institutions that have them, when SDSU does not.
